Welcome to Women in ITAD, a dynamic, inclusive community dedicated to uplifting and connecting women in the IT Asset Disposition industry. Founded in 2024, WIITAD is more than just a community; it’s a group driving change, built by and for women who are ready to lead, inspire, and transform the future of ITAD (IT asset disposition industry). Our story began at the ITAD Summit in Miami, Florida, where a shared vision sparked a powerful movement to elevate women’s voices in the ITAD space.

Our Beginning: A Summit Led to the Formation of a Community

At the 2024 ITAD Summit, an impromptu meetup organized by the Summit organizers brought together women with a common goal to support each other. Many industry veterans from different verticals came together with the idea to network, support and inspire each other within the ITAD industry. That moment marked the beginning of Women in ITAD, as attendees recognized the urgent need for a space dedicated to them, only women in the ITAD field.

Industry veterans Namrata Sengupta of BitRaser and Karen Fedder of Karen Fedder Consulting took the initiative to launch the WIITAD Community. While Namrata used her tech-savviness to launch the LinkedIn Page and the website, Karen used her networking skills to add leading Women in the industry to the LinkedIn group. Both leaders collaborated well with their strengths to shape the community and connect hundreds of women. Today, this community is a place where women in the industry can easily collaborate, learn and grow.

The community continues to grow steadily, with our LinkedIn group now boasting over 190 members. The founders, along with dedicated volunteers like me, are actively reaching out and welcoming women from diverse roles across the ITAD industry. From compliance and certifications to marketing, logistics, business development, and operations, women from all corners of the sector are proudly joining this vibrant network.

Why WIITAD Matters?

The ITAD industry is evolving rapidly, yet it remains a space dominated by men, where women are underrepresented. WIITAD is here to change that for sure. We’re 100% volunteer-led, grassroots-driven, and powered by passionate professionals across the industry. We’re not backed by sponsors or corporate’s; we are just a group of women who are committed to empowering each other to drive change in the world of ITAD.
